I should be sewing

Every year at this time, as school gets out and summer vacation starts (for other people) I wish I could go back to the days when I did have my summers off…  I enjoy my job, but I envy those with three months of a free schedule (or at least one YOU have 100% control of) and leisure time.

If I had today off, I’d be in my sewing studio paper-piecing the quilt I cut out last night.  I just don’t get enough time to sew.  Ever.  It would be even better if those four in the pic (really, even just one of them) were there to keep my beverage glass full, and press the seams for me.  (thanks to my sweetie who does do that for me on the weekends!)

Happy sewing,

Doris

p.s. Congrats to Sherry at Blessings from our Nest, who won our SMS Giveaway at Row House Creations.  We are running a special on our pattern, though Friday as a thank you for all the wonderful feedback!

  1. Not much longer and you will have 3 uninterrupted days of quilting ;-) I haven’t been able to take advantage of my time off…errands, dentist appts, etc, but hope to hit the quilting hard tomorrow!!

    • He does. He spent much of his Memorial weekend Saturday & Monday ironing fabric I pre-washed. He had the ironing board set up in front of the TV with the DVD player going the whole time!

  2. I’m on summer “vacation,” and I have meetings at work every day next week except Monday. I would like to know what it really feels like to be off in the summer. Although I’m not paid to work in the summer, I find myself working A LOT, and it makes me annoyed sometimes!

  3. Well, clearly the guy in the picture you must have for pressing seams would be Iron Man. Hahaha! Get it? Iron Man. ;)

Let me know what you have to say on the subject....
